Warm tips:

1. Please select the appropriate nail for the target hole according to the above table.

2. If the nail is not firm enough, please twist the threadedrod clockwise for a distance, and then use the drywall anchor setting tool again to tighten the nail, you can repeat until the nail is firm.

(Under the pulling force of the drywall anchor setting tool, the nail holds the umbrella to stabilize on the board, the pulling distance of the tool is fixed, when the nail reaches the longer pulling saw needed to clamp the stable situation, you need to twist the threadedrod back clockwise, and then use the tool to pull the nail tight again to hold the fixed umbrella.)

As a new homeowner on my own I’ll be honest when I say I don’t entirely know too much about hardware and tools, I wanted to try this because my studs are not evenly spaced in my home and it makes so many things asymmetrical the awesome thing is this pretty much lets me place things sturdily in dry wall so I’m not just limited to studs. Makes the options endless. This is so incredibly easy to use, and functions very well, Once you apply the screw and the wings expand, that screw is good to go, and some of my paintings aren’t that light. Just think of it as an awesome stapler. Super useful and easy for beginners like me 🙂

Boy how I wish this heavy-duty anchor fixing gun with metal molly bolts was in my possession years ago. Have experienced two disasters where a 50-inch TV and heavy 5-foot-long picture fell off the wall due to the anchor bolt not staying set in the sheetrock. No way something like that would ever occur using these umbrella style anchor screws. An entire section of the wall would need to crumble down for this mishap to occur using a Molly bolt.

One thing to keep in mind when using them, make sure you have the proper bolt fitting the thickness of the drywall you plan on inserting into. This isn¡¯t the type of installation that is very forgiving to mistakes, so get it right the first time. I don¡¯t care if you need to practice using one on an expendable piece of drywall to insure it¡¯s the exact size needed.

I¡¯m a lazy person when it comes to measuring and drilling pre-holes for proper installation of anchor bolts, so any shortcuts I can use to get the job done right I¡¯ll take full advantage of. This here FOREVTL drywall anchor setting kit is perfect for us weekend DIY home repair warriors.

Molly bolts or anchors are one of the better ways to hang things on drywall. They can be tricky to use correctly, mainly because the sizing used is confusing. The critical measurement for a Molly bolt is the thickness of the drywall (or other material) you’re using the anchor with. If you use a Molly that’s meant for thinner or thicker drywall, it will fail miserably. And yet wall thickness is not how Molly bolts are sized; they’re given sizes like “6 x 52” and “4 x 32,” but neither of the numbers in those pairs relate directly to the thickness of the drywall; they refer to other dimensions of the bolt. Molly bolt sizes 6 x 52 and 5 x 52 good for half-inch drywall, but I only know that by holding them up to a ruler.
Molly bolts can be used simply by drilling a hole, tapping in the bolt, and then tightening the screw until the “umbrella” part of the bolt fully opens up inside your wall. The prongs that dig into the outside of the wall keep the whole bolt from twisting as you tighten the screw. Alternatively, you can use this tool to pop that umbrella open. This is faster and a little more reliable than just tightening the screw, but not at all necessary.

The “dry wall anchor” is a well established category of failure these days. Anchors don’t hold. They pull out. If they do you a favor, they just fail to allow the screw to even begin to tighten so you can stop the whole operation before it becomes a disaster.

But these babies are made by people who understand that drywall is made of dust and spit and can’t hold your interest, let alone your Mom’s portrait of her cat. So you NEED these things, which used to be called Molly Bolts or Moly Bolts or something. They do not pull out. They never quit. Of course, if you change your mind and want to remove them, you’ll need to study up on patching drywall, but hey– that’s what you get for being indecisive! As for me, I decide where a picture or shelf or whatever goes, and it STAYS there until my natural death.

These things are great. For those who are into final decisions.

If you want a better wall anchor, one that won’t break when you try to insert it or break when you try to screw the screw into it, or just not work at all… this is an answer. It is a completely intuitive tool. You will need to get the hardware as it comes with an assortment of anchors but there is only 4 of each kind. I used this on an external stucco wall and on a sheetrock inside wall, both anchors went in easy and held perfectly.
